Kim Kardashian is back to modeling the latest looks from Yeezy Season 8, but in one paparazzi/#advertorial photo, it wasn't the clothes that caught everyone's attention: It was her hair, which was colored a deep shade of blue. Blue!
On June 12, hairstylist Chris Appleton's Instagrammed Kim's new look: a waist-length, navy style the hair pro captioned "Blue black." Kim paired the new 'do with a head-to-toe blue spandex outfit, making a serious case for the monochromatic look. However, in a second shot, she's wearing a fluorescent orange sweatsuit, and the contrast makes the cool undertones in her hair really pop. While the latest look is almost certainly a wig, there are plenty of ways to try out the hue yourself — without having to use bleach.
"Brunettes can still achieve a darker version of any color without bleaching hair," Bumble and bumble Lead Color Educator Marcy Cline told Teen Vogue. "I would recommend using darker dye colors, like Manic Panic's High Voltage in After Midnight, Overtone Extreme Blue, or have your colorist try Pravana Chromasilk Vivids if you're at a salon." (We also like Splat’s 30 Wash No Bleach Hair Color Kit as another budget-friendly option to DIY the color at home.)
Because the KKW-approved blue color is so dark, any upkeep is relatively simple (there's no need to go in for regular gloss and tone appointments), and the color will gradually fade into a subtle smoke over a few weeks. However, if you don't feel comfortable using temporary hair colors, steal a tip from Kim and wear a wig to make all of your evil twin hair dreams come true — at least for a few hours.
