The most popular kids in elementary school were the ones with the latest gaming systems and the latest American Girl Dolls. While it might be too late to be the coolest kids around, it appears that American Girl and Xbox have joined forces to bring the ultimate toy to the next generation: an Xbox gaming set designed for an American Girl Doll.
For a just a fraction of the price of a real Xbox One S, your child and their American Girl doll can now game alongside one another with this perfectly doll-sized gaming set. The doll is not included, but if you toss in one of the Create-Your-Own dolls for $200, it’ll be more than the Xbox.
The set comes with a wee little Xbox One S and controller, two “games” (BLOKS and Dance!), a sleek gaming chair (which apparently has a built-in speaker), and some cool gaming headphones. As if that wasn’t already a sweet set up for a porcelain doll, the Xbox also projects ten different gaming images.
Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hyrb tweeted about this riveting fusion of doll and gamer.
While American Girl is known for its historical characters, their Girl of the Year line has always featured present-day characters, and the recently released Contemporary Characters line focuses on girls in a modern setting. Its 2017 release, Z Yang, for instance, posts videos online and attends VidCon in her tie-in storybook.
And now for something completely different: You can now get an American Girl Doll with an "Xbox Gaming Set" - a console, controller, headset and her own gaming chair. https://t.co/E20lsIxT5c pic.twitter.com/PrLb99nKTB

The American Girls, whether historical or contemporary, have always had diverse and forward-thinking hobbies, ranging from investigative journalism to spoken-word poetry, from filmmaking to astronomy. They’ve yet to release a gamer character, but there’s no time like the present.
The set is probably intended for the modern day dolls to use, but it sure would be cool to see Molly McIntire from the World War II era playing Battlefield V.
The American Girl Xbox gaming set sells for $50 and can be found on the American Girl retail site.
