Nikki DeLoach and Dylan Neal are bringing an extra dose of sweetness to Hallmark Channel’s Fall Harvest with their flick, “Truly, Madly, Sweetly.” The Saturday premiere is the first new movie to air during the 2018 edition of the programming event, as well as the actors’ first film together.
Prior to this, Neal’s most recent Hallmark movie was Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Eat, Drink & Be Buried: A Gourmet Detective Mystery” with Brooke Burns, while DeLoach had one out that same year but on Hallmark Channel. Her film was “The Perfect Catch” with Andrew Walker.
In this new film, “Natalie Morgan (DeLoach) is the owner of a San Francisco food truck business, selling cupcakes and struggling to make ends meet,” the movie synopsis begins. “Eric Schneider (Neal) is a finance manager and divorced dad who also cares for his 10-year-old daughter, Lily (Bailey Skodje). Although the two first meet when Natalie accidentally knocks into Eric as he walks by her food truck, fate brings these strangers together again later that same day for a serendipitous meeting destined to change their lives forever.”
The two get letters telling them to head to attorney Stan Carrillo’s (Milo Shandel) office, which is where they find out that Eric’s aunt, who was a customer of Natalie’s, died and left them each some property. Eric inherited a building, while Natalie received the carriage house at the back of the place. Eric wants to sell the building and divvy up the money, but Natalie wants them to see it before they decide anything.
“They visit the building and discover it is the site of a once-famous bakery, which was owned by Aunt Bea but is now in disrepair,” the synopsis continues. “Eric is now even more convinced the best thing to do is to sell the property but when he consults with real estate agent Courtney Belize (Alison Wandzura), who also happens to be an old flame (and seems to still have feelings for him), he discovers selling it won’t be easy since the building has been declared a historical site and has strict rules about what can be done with it.”
Since selling seems to be too difficult, the new co-owners decide to renovate the bakery, instead. It’s a tough process, but as they work through it together, a romance begins to grow between Natalie and Eric. She’s a bit nervous to start a new relationship because she’s just been through a bad breakup. Plus, she finds out a buyer has been found for the building, leaving her feeling betrayed by Eric.
“On the eve of their opening day a fire breaks out in the bakery, bringing Eric and Natalie together again to save the business with the help of their friends, and forge a relationship that looks like it can withstand anything.”
