Meghan Markle is being plagued with pregnancy rumors ever since she was spotted wearing a Jason Wu dress during an engagement.
But as of late, Kensington Palace has not yet made an announcement regarding the Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy. Experts claimed that there is a way for royal fans to know when Markle is expecting her first child even before the palace confirms it to the public.
Dr. Joyce Ameh, online GP at Push Doctor, told Cosmopolitan UK, that Markle’s hairstyle and hair length could determine her pregnancy.
“During pregnancy, a woman’s hair growth cycle changes and most women actually experience hair growth. The texture of the hair may also change and there is increase blood flow on the scalp. It is possible that there may also be an increased absorption of chemicals applied to the scalp during pregnancy. My advice would be to avoid in pregnancy and particularly in the first trimester,” she said (via Express).
Charlotte Mensah, an award-winning afro hair stylist specializing in natural hair, said that women with afro-Caribbean hair usually cut their hair short when they are pregnant because it requires less maintenance.
“It’s one of the easiest ways to guarantee that you’ll stay looking incredible during the pregnancy. Short haircuts can be low maintenance but still fun and stylish,” Mensah said.
The expert added that keeping the hair short during pregnancy is actually good for the hair and scalp.
“One of the amazing benefits of pregnancy is that many women experience an abundance of hair growth. The hormones secreted during pregnancy boost hair growth and make it stronger, healthier, and shinier,” she said.
Ameh and Mensah are not the only two experts to suggest that Markle’s pregnancy will be determined through her hairstyle and hair’s texture.
Myka Meier, a royal etiquette expert, told The Sun, said that Markle seems to be using Keratin treatment on her hair to straighten it. When she gets pregnant, she may no longer be able to use the same product.
“I think we’ll see her wearing more of a bun when that happens, which could be a tell-tale sign she is pregnant…” she said.
